These are the questions our Cincinnati office fields most from Hamilton County households and businesses planning a relocation with A+ Don’s Moving. Browse our full range of moving services for details on what each job covers. If your question is not here, send it through the free quote form or contact our teama real person from our roster, not a call center, will answer it. No outside carrier ever touches your job.

What does a local Cincinnati move cost?
You can book hourly or on a flat written rate, and we tell you which one fits before you commit. A 2-mover crew is $115/hr and a 3-mover crew is $155/hr, both with a 2-hour minimum, truck, pads, and dollies included. Most customers pick the flat rate: studio or 1BR runs $475-$725, 2BR $950-$1,550, 3BR $1,750-$2,800, and 4BR $3,000-$4,400.
How early should I book a Cincinnati mover?
Two to three weeks is comfortable for most relocation work. Month-end, the first weekend of any month, and the UC, Xavier, and NKU turnover in May and August fill up fastest. If your date is tight, send it through the quote form anyway - Marlene holds a few crews open for short-notice jobs.
How do you handle Ohio Valley weather?
April through June Trevor watches the radar for tornado cells before he dispatches a job, and January through February every truck carries chains, salt, and shovels for ice events that roll up the river. We start early when severe weather is forecast and protect heat-sensitive pieces from cold and condensation. Climate-controlled storage runs $145-$370/mo by unit size.
Are you licensed and insured in Ohio?
Yes. A+ Don's Moving is an Ohio household-goods carrier with Ohio PUCO authority on file and US DOT and MC authority for interstate work, carrying $1M in cargo coverage on every job. Ask Marlene and we will show the paperwork before move day - no broker workaround, no "matched carrier" disclaimer.
What is included in the Cincinnati price?
Every local relocation includes the truck, fuel, furniture pads, dollies, shrink wrap, and basic disassembly and reassembly of beds and standard furniture. There is no travel-time padding or fuel surcharge added at the end - the flat number we write down is the number you pay at unload.
Do you move UC, Xavier, and NKU students and faculty?
Yes. May and August are our busiest weeks - apartment turnover near UC and Clifton, off-campus rentals around Xavier in Norwood, dorm-to-house transitions at NKU across the river, and faculty relocations into Mason, Blue Ash, and Hyde Park. Tell us your lease dates on the quote form and we will build the schedule around them.
Can you handle historic Hyde Park and Mt. Adams homes?
Yes. Tight Victorian staircases, hillside walk-ups, narrow doorframes, and finished basements to load out of are normal Cincinnati work for our crew. Antoine has spent years on these houses - call out anything oversized on the quote form so we send the right gear and headcount.
Can you handle a long-distance move out of Cincinnati?
Yes. Long-distance relocation runs on a binding written quote tied to your inventory and the two ZIP codes, not a number that creeps up later. Whether you are headed to Indianapolis, Columbus, Louisville, Dayton, Lexington, or Cleveland, the same A+ Don's crew loads and delivers, and the $1M cargo coverage travels with your shipment.
Do you move pianos and other specialty items?
Yes - pianos have their own line: roughly $250-$450 for an upright and $450-$800 for a baby grand, handled with proper boards and straps. We also move gun safes, appliances, fitness equipment, and oversized art. Flag any specialty piece on the quote form so Marquis and the right crew show up.
Are you a moving company?
Yes - A+ Don's Moving is a licensed, insured Cincinnati moving company running our own trucks and W-2 crews. We are not a broker, moving company, or lead aggregator, and your job is never handed to an outside carrier. The uniformed movers at your door are our employees, the truck has our name on it, and the price is the price we wrote down.

Why the Queen City Books A+ Don's Moving

From Mason two-story Colonials and West Chester split-levels to P&G executive condos and Mt. Adams hillside Victorians — a crew that knows Hamilton, Warren, and Butler County streets block by block.

Severe-Weather Loadouts

April tornado watches, January ice storms, August humidity — we roll up with floor runners, shrink wrap, and pad-wrapped dollies. Tight Mt. Adams curbs and steep Clifton driveways get a smaller truck and slower grade.

Top-Rated OH Crews

Every hand at your door is on our payroll — full-time, W-2, background-checked, trained the way Don runs the yard. Never day labor. That is how we hold a 5-star Google rating.

One Flat Written Rate

Your figure is set on paper before the first carton leaves, and it holds whether I-71 stacks or the job runs late. Long hauls come back as a binding written total — nothing added at the curb.

No Broker Handoffs

Every truck wears our name; every mover draws a W-2 paycheck. Your load is never handed off — one Cincinnati company packs it, drives it, and carries it in.

Fully Insured, $1M Cargo

Registered Ohio household-goods carrier — Ohio PUCO authority on file in-state, US DOT and MC for jobs across the Kentucky line. A $1 million cargo policy backs every job.

On Time Across the Metro

Two-hour arrival window, a call the moment we leave the yard. We route around the Brent Spence Bridge and the I-275 backup near Blue Ash, so your closing date holds.

Packing & Supplies Included

Pack the whole house, the finished basement, or just the rooms keeping you up at night. Cartons, pads, dollies, and shrink film ride on the truck — wrapping starts the moment we step inside.

Specialty Pieces Handled

Upright pianos, gun safes, and antique sideboards get the right ramp and straps — plus a crew chief who has eased them down Mt. Adams steps and out of Hyde Park walk-ups without a scratch.

Your Easy Cincinnati Move

A flat written rate, then loading, then unloading at your new Queen City address — three steps, start to finish.

1

Tell Us About Your Move

Share the basics — rooms, finished basement, tight Mt. Adams hillside curb access, any upright piano or gun safe — and Don’s office prices it as one clear flat figure with no fine print.

2

We Wrap & Protect

The crew rolls up on time, pads and shrink-wraps every piece — finished basements, downtown high-rise units, narrow Over-the-Rhine third-floor walk-ups — and shoulders all the heavy lifting.

3

Move to Your New Home

We drive across Hamilton County or out I-71 toward Columbus and I-75 toward Dayton, unload box by box into the right rooms, and reassemble the furniture. Welcome home!
